As a youngster, I never thought I'd say I am a fan of American autos. During the 1980s and 1990s products from Ford, General Motors and Chrysler were just poor. There's no other way to describe it.

The designs sucked, reliability was flaky — at best — and there was no pride in owning an American vehicle. Now though the tide has turned across all three.

Right now though there's nothing more exciting to me than the upcoming Ford GT. Not only is it going to rain hell on the European exotica, it also will be running at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Given its a new car that will be running in its first year, my hopes aren't high for a podium finish but I reckon in two to three years it may create problems for its respective classmates.

Before the company revealed the race-going GT at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, it shot video of the car undergoing shakedown testing. The results are below.
