VW considers smaller models for U.S. starting at $13k
Volkswagen is considering a range of small models for North America with turbocharged 1.4 liter engines and prices that will start around $13,000.
“Small cars like the Polo could be very, very interesting,” said Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. Jacoby also wants to see a production version of the rear-drive Space Up! Blue Concept that debuted at the LA auto show in November.

Bwahahahahaha. Seems just like they made the Jetta bigger than it's Civic competitor and more pricy, and then they overpriced the Golf so have to bring back the Rabbit. And even that is just a stripped down Golf itself, now they are trying to give us a smaller car that is a look alike to the GM Smart car. Is this VW's way of apologizing for making cars that are overpriced to begin with?

The Golf IS the Rabbit. Same car, different name.

Thanks for the correction Rupert *thumbs up*
I understand they want a car to compete with the other smallies, like the Versa, Fit, Aveo, etc. But offering something that is even smaller than the Golf/GTI is kinda absurd. The car has barely as much room as the Honda fit does now. So an even smaller version won't compete. Heck I wanted cargo room and 4 doors that would fit 4 people comfortable, so I opted for the Matrix over the Mazda 3. That and Mazda did not offer AWD.

If you think smaller than a Golf is absurd...you should see my car.
My car is 2 sizes down from a Golf, it's smaller than a Yaris.
Love it though!

Don't worry, mine isn't that lurid green colour...
It's only 3.5 metres long! (139 inches!)

So you own a Lupo, see I wouldn't mind those coming here, but not what is pictured above. The Lupo at least has some history and can be a little rocket if played with.

The Lupo GTi is so cool - although so many people don't know it exists.
It's an homage to the original Golf in terms of size and power.
I think the UP! would be a very playable car - it is RWD and rear engined after all - stick 120hp+ in there and watch it fly. I imagine it would replace the Fox in Europe, as the Fox is a very boring car with none of the character of the Lupo.

hahahaha you made a gay joke because Lupo rhymes with homo!
ahahahahahahahaha you are absolutely hilarious, you should be on tv!!! seriously, funniest thing ever!
Does it make you happy posting on online forums off colour jokes that you wouldn't dare say in real life? Does it make you feel good? Because on the internet, you're a rebel, (you think) you're cool.. Shame the same can't be said for real life.
You probably don't even know what Lupo means.
