I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

I'm looking forward to test-driving one of these. I wonder if it's going to be all that they say in the article.

I think the car looks great and I'm looking forward to a test drive too. However, who programmed the frickin' music??? The guy introducing the car says "The 4 door sports car is back?", and then you see this leisurely driver taking turns at about 25 together with music that puts you to sleep....apparently Nissan hasn't communicated the new "image" to everybody yet.

"High targets were established, including the goal of creating “the best performing front engine, front-wheel drive car in the world,” along with class-leading acceleration, braking, handling, workmanship and cockpit design."

Tha's what I'm refering to. I'm wondering if they really acomplished it.

Depending on the importance of FWD/RWD/AWD, I would find it difficult to justify a G over a maxima. The Max looks pretty nice in the video, but what's up with that music and driving?!?!?! I was hoping to see a little "sport" in the video just like the introduction suggested.

On the maxima video's music-soporific, sephulchural dirge:

I thought that the music would change pitch without warning- and the Nissan would transform from a dull sedan trundling about- into a WICKED 4DSC, SNARLING though the bends.

Alas- neither the music nor the car action changed pace.

This company tries so hard to be the anti-honyota of japan that their designs go way too far. This thing, like the murano, is just ridiculous. Why couldnt they have just evolved/refined the look, like they did with the Alti?

BECAUSE OF SALES!......check out the declining sales of the Maxima since it was slated with the "Altima Look"...this is a breakaway design...now it looks like its own car...go to: www.nissannews.com and check it out! I love the fact that they DONT look like either the Toyota and Honda....

Oh believe me, the fact that they at least TRY to be different makes them infinitely better than honyota. Its just that they sometimes try TOO hard, and come up with freakshow designs like this and the murano.

This is nice and the morano looks better in person. The only freak show design is the FX and I am hoping that looks better in person.

This is horrid, and the murano too looks like horrid. The fx right now is the only thing this company has that comes close to sexy, everything else right now is either mediocre or downright horrid.

I never thought Nissan would ever pay back the respect to the car that saved their a$$ back in the 90s but they finally did. This car will finally revive all good memories I had about the Maxima before the crappy 2005-2008 model. Thanks Nissan.

The 2004-2006 maxima were nice! The 2007 revamp with the CVT engine is what through the car off. I loved my 05 maxima! It was a great car. Hated the 07 revamp.

Class leading Acceleration - better be 0-60 in 5.8 or less, cuz I know one other FWD V6 car that can do that.

I saw it in person the other day.. It actually looks pretty good. BUT, I saw the spec sheet and it has the damn CVT!!! The CVT is gargage, pure and simple. Sorry Nissan, you almost got me back in your showroom. Almost...

If Nissan can design a more generic looking grille than this one I would be amazed. If not for that, the rest of the car is shall I say, intriguing. I owned a 1990 Maxima SE for 7 years, a car I truly loved. This ain't no 4DSC!
