Isn't there a saying in show business? Something like, "The show must go on."

It's clearly applicable here.

Just announced, the Fast & Furious franchise will receive an eighth installment. While I will be the first to admit that the F&F movies don't cut the mustard for me, they certainly strike a chord with the general public.

So far the seventh installment has racked up over $1 billion — globally — at the box office and is currently ranked as the seventh highest grossing film of all time. That's certainly no small feat.

This week one of the picture's stars, Vin Diesel, addressed a crowd of theater owners in Las Vegas and confirmed that production will start on the next chapter in the series and it will be delivered in April 2017.

While there were rumors the franchise would end after the seventh incarnation, it became a bit more clear that wasn't entirely in the cards as studio execs were keen on keeping it alive.

Buckle up, Furious fans. You're still in for one helluva ride.


Furious 8″ will hit theaters April 14, 2017, Vin Diesel confirmed at Universal’s CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas on Thursday.
