Wagoner Travels To Meet With Japanese Automakers
Rick Wagoner, General Motors Chairman and CEO, spent yesterday meeting with the leaders of several Japanese automakers, including Toyota, Suzuki, and Isuzu.
Wagoner’s trip was reportedly to discuss “areas of mutual interest,” but as no further details were provided, that could mean everything from technology-sharing initiatives to safety standards to Britters and K-Fed’s divorce filing. There is speculation on the behalf of Japan’s Nihon Keizei newspaper that at least part of the discussions centered on a potential dissolving of GM’s diesel engine partnerships with Isuzu in both the U.S. and Poland.
This isn’t the first such visit among the automakers, but it comes at a particularly contentious time for General Motors. It will be interesting to see what fruits (if any) come as the result of Wagoner’s overseas visit.

Detroit's 2: GM and Ford
Dont' get tricked into their bullshit
Toyota....
......Remember back in the days when GM quit on you. I'm referring to the - Toyota and GM starting out as a partner on the hybrid technology until GM quit.
GM went with their own so superior EV1 electric cars and hydrogen car ventures. Greedy bastards.

Good move by Toyotas and other Japanese Giants, by making them fly over to see you instead of you flying over to see them in Detroit getting shot at..
Very good strategy.

Good move for GM to get out of the hybrid because it is doing so well now!

Nicehomer, that was hilarious.....LOL :), but yeah why would Toyota want to waste their time with GM? Toyota sales growing stronger than ever before. Everyone here know that GM doesn't gave crap about Japanese automaker so why so the Japanese automaker help them.
I sure hope Toyota does not share design with GM because GM design are Ugly as hell... and I mean circus freak ugly. Even Hydunai make better design than GM with their Sonata. Their so many thing that I don't understand about GM, they have Freakin money..why can't they hire a good designing Engineer for their vechicle.

Their's only two things they could talk about.
1. Sharing capacity since they've already co-operated on the Matrix/Vibe.
2. Working together on hydrogen/fuel cell to get distributors to start making the infrastructure, or atleast lowering the cost to make one.
