While Fiat Chrysler Automobile's (FCA) has had its SRT group for a bit of time now, its models have been hit or miss in terms of popularity. There's no question though that the sporting division has struck gold with its Hellcat models.

Offering over 700 horsepower on tap for a normal production car will move the needle on demand. Duh.

Because supply has been low and demand so high, low-brow retailers took advantage. Some dealers were taking too many orders and others were just downright playing games via mark ups. That's why our sister site, DealerRater.com, exists. Thankfully, FCA stepped in to try and address the issue.

According to the latest reports, the 2016 model year will be getting a price hike. The Challenger SRT Hellcat will receive a bump to the tune of $4,200 while the Charger SRT Hellcat gets a lift of $3,650. That brings us to a base price of $62,495 and $65,945 for the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models, respectively.

Similarly, the Charger SRT Hellcat is getting a $3,650 increase to $65,945, and a $3,000 hike on the SRT 392 model to $50,995...

...For shoppers who had an order for a 2015 model canceled, FCA is offering consolation in the form of a discount on the 2016 model. Affected customers are being contacted directly and the offer isn't being advertised like a normal incentive.

According to a bulletin issued to dealers on August 4, the Hellcat Sold Order Cash Allowance can be used as a one-time discount of $5,000 on a Challenger Hellcat or $4,000 on a Charger Hellcat. The program is set to expire January 3, 2017...
