After thinking about last week's latest news item about the Chevrolet Volt, I think it's time we stopped and look around a bit. You know, really sit down and think about what's going on with electric vehicles. I was watching a leading news provider today and they asked a simple -- but important -- question:

What's wrong with the Chevrolet Volt?

Now I don't think we should pin the blame entirely on the Volt. The Volt has already been acknowledged as many for being ahead of its time. That said, a more accurate question we should ask:

With SO many great hybrids on the road, why would anyone want an electric vehicle?

In addition, why would anyone want to deal with the added hassle of an electric product?

Though plugging in isn't the WORST thing to deal with, a fully electric vehicle is limited in its ability to charge quickly and to tack miles on the odometer. You would think that cars like the Volt, with its range extender would make the choice an easy decision. Not the case.

With more than 1,000 workers out of a gig and production halting to keep pace with limited demand, it's times that we learn from this situation so we don't repeat it again.

With SO Many Great Hybrids Out There WHY Would Anyone Want An Electric Car?
