Wow! The New 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
I think there is no better example of how far passenger car diesel technology has advanced than the new E320 Bluetec sedan.

Even if there are only a people who you hardly spot the differences between this E-Class and last year's version I must admit I love this car.

What about you?

In my opinion, this and the Audi A6 are the most beautiful and classy cars in this class.

I had a 1998 E420 and it was a terrific car. Back then the power was considered good and the comfort was just without peer. Handling wasn't as sharp as the current E-Class, but overall it was a great family cruiser.

I agree with E class but Audi A6.
Audi A6 needs to shed some 100 Kilos.

Maybe A6 has the same weight as it's competitors but it looks very fat and round. Not sleek,Classy and Elegant like 5 Series,E Class and GS.

I wouldn't call the GS "sleek-" with the standard 17" wheels, it looks fatter than the A6.

No shedding weight "JUGNU"! The best ride is obtained with a heavy body and light unsprung components. BTW, the A6 has a significantly roomier interior than the current C-Class but the 2008 C-Class will increase in size. It remains to be seen how the redesigned 2009 or 2010 E-Class will compare to the A6 at that time. I think that, for a short time, the new C will canibalize some E sales. I am annoyed at Mercedes for dumping their in-line 6-cylinder diesel in favour of an inherently-out-of-balance 90-degree V6 configuration.

Actually, the newest E-class diesel has a 72-degree configuration which is still not as good as an in-line 6. I suspect that Mercedes is working on a V-10 diesel and wants to build the 6-cylinder diesel using the same capital equipment. 72 degrees between cylinder banks is ideal for V-10 engines.
