I used information from CorvetteForum to get employee pricing from a local Houston dealer for my Stingray...always good to do your homework ahead of time

Another downside of the dealer model, inconsistent pricing.

The biggest DOWNSIDE of manufacturer pricing is lack of competition. (Ie - Monopoly)

Tesla will learn that it will not work once the market has several viable competitors in various pricing levels.

@SJD Yes it is far better to cash rape everyone using the Tesla system..

You don't have a monopoly as long as there are other cars in the same class for sale. Does Apple have a monopoly on cell phones? Would it make more sense for you to visit several Apply dealerships hunting for the best price on the same iphone?

Still better than buying a Tesla for $110k only to find out they've reduced the price to the mid-80's and everything is now standard lol.

Actually for me - there is just too much "NEW"in this car for me to consider it to be an early buy. This is one case where I would want at least 6 months of production and maybe a year before I would pull the trigger - assuming I would want to at all.

Thanks! That is very helpful! My local dealer said it based on demand, the MAP! They have not decided on a MAP yet on the C8!
