TEASED! Lamborghini Suggests Something NEW Is On The Horizon For The Frankfurt Motor Show — Could It Be An eAventador?
The 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) is just weeks away. As usual, it's one of the biggest events for the automotive world.

Frankfurt and Geneva are two fantastic venues where we get the pleasure of seeing outrageous concepts and all sorts of production eye candy.

It turns out that Lamborghini isn't sitting this one out. Releasing a rather cryptic tweet in a dimly lit photo, the raging bull is previewing something. Just no one really knows.

According to reports the Aventador replacement arrives in 2022. This could either be one of two things: 1) That replacement vehicle in concept form; or, 2) A new Aventador that will feature hybrid technology to propel us to new heights in the interim.

It seems the buzz is surrounding the latter with some calling it the Aventador 2, which is really what the Aventador S was, but I digress.

I suspect it is a concept. Being a very purpose built car, I am not sure where a battery back or electric motor would go in an Aventador. The only unused room in the frunk. At 4100lbs currently, any new hybrid will be heavier.

The Aventador needs to be replaced.

@MD-Soon come. This concept may be like others where it features a possible drivetrain and the rest is just a mock up someone in the design department thought up that has no bearing on the future Aventador replacement. If they could get back to making a smaller Muira sized car with a very powerful hybrid motor and a 3.0L V12 that could be interesting.

@CC Have you ever seen an Islero in person?

@MD- Sadly no. But I think I saw one for sale once online that was owned by someone in Canada. When Ferrari talks about more usable daily GT cars being a growth area, you can be Lamborghini and others will take an interest if they are successful.

I'm fortunate not only to have seen one but to know a guy who has one in his collection (Seattle area). They should merge the Huracan/Aventador into an ICE/electric mid-engine vehicle. They should revive the Miura name and sense of style for that vehicle. The origami look is played out and the Uterus has destroyed it for good. I'd replace the Huracan's role with a new Islero--a gentleman's GT--and price it below the current Huracan. I'd leverage the EV Porsche Boxster/Cayman platform that has been openly hinted at for a $125K Espada. I'd revive that late 60's early 70s vibe to be captivating and also the antidote to the increasingly ugly Ferraris.

Looks cool but probably just one of their super exclusive models for their elite clientele. Hope I'm wrong.

It's been widely reported that the Aventador replacement is still many years away.

Maybe a surprise?

There are photos floating around of a green car based on the current Aventador that seems to be full of holes / openings / missing bodywork as is the current fashion. Not sure if it is a BEV but if they forgo the frunk, it could be possible.
