Corvette Enthusiasts Begin Black Listing Dealerships With Steep C8 Markups

Car enthusiasts don’t like it when dealerships sell new vehicles with steep markups in order to cash in on customer demand that far exceeds supply. Chevrolet fans are having none of this, though, and are fighting back.

From the moment the 2020 Corvette Stingray was announced with a sub-$60,000 starting price, everyone (rightly) proclaimed it a bargain.

It’s supply and demand, a little bit of patience and things will be reversed. Supply will outstrip demand, we’re not talking Ferrari’s here, GM will produce as many as possible.

While supply will eventually outstrip demand - that won't happen quickly and some dealers will get their add ons paid by those who will not wait.

I have said before that I would NOT consider buying the first 6 months to a year of this car - and become a Beta Tester for it. Wait for the second year and get a far more reliable less problematic vehicle. There are just too many new things here to really predict what it will be like.
