The police bought a Tesla Model 3 because it's quick, silent and allows for savings compared to a gas car.

The Bargersville Police Department has become the first police department in Indiana with a Tesla electric car and the first in the country with a Tesla Model 3.

In 2018, Hyattsville Maryland bought a Chevy Bolt as a Police Cruiser - why was that one NOT mentioned here at AutoSPies?

And BEFORE the BolT - in 2015 - they had a foreign EV

Currently - NYCity has 31 Chevy Bolts and 18% of its police cruisers are HYBRIDS as well
