Forget That Self Driving Vehicle, Wouldn't We All Be Safer If Everyone Went To Racing School Instead?

Forget That Self Driving Vehicle, Wouldn't We All Be Safer If Everyone Went To Racing School Instead?
Students start rolling in at dawn. Lime Rock Park is breathtaking at that hour; a ring of fog-dappled hills surround the 1.54 mile circuit, looking just as they did some sixty years ago when the track was bulldozed out of Connecticut's Litchfield Hills. Braking, turn-in, apex, and track-out points are still exactly as Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Sam Posey, and Danika Patrick once navigated them. They're the very same ones a new racing driver will learn at Skip Barber Racing School's three-day course.

Absolutely! Many of todays driver slow down almost to a stop to make turn into another street! Plus, many driver drive to slowly at 50 mph in the left lane where the speed limit is 65 mph. These drivers back up traffic for miles of roadway too!

I do nothing YOU do not do against people who are not anarchists like YOU are.
YOU regularly mouth off against liberals and progressives in worse ways than I would ever do.

No - the retired Republicans do not own the roads - ALL americans do. WE ALL paid for them.

However - there is no reliable information that says that people who have been instructed on driving racing cars - would be any safer on Public Highways - but racing instruction MIGHT encourage people to go faster than they would have otherwise - which we know is a factor in lots of Accidents.

"Racing" school comes in different flavors. Some offer actual racing instruction and some are more performance vehicle control. Some are run whatcha brung and others provide the cars. All sorts. I've been a bunch of times (every couple of years is good if you do track time). My wife's been and Jed's been.

I agree, most accidents happen when you get into an unusual situation, a slide or hydroplaning etc... Racing school teaches you how to react in those situations. In the pilot training they have training for unusual attitude training which is similar to situations in cars that can lead to accidents.
