WHAT Got You Hotter? The Products Revealed At #IAA Frankfurt Or The The New iPhones, Etc.?
Today was a big news day starting out of Germany with the #IAA Frankfurt Motor Show and then followed up later back across the world in Silicon Valley with the Apple product event.

As I was surfing around most of the commenters were saying Frankfurt got overshadowed by Apple as far as buzz and product excitement.

Which event was more exciting and impressive to YOU? And why?

I'm looking forward to the CarPlay update, as well as all the upcoming EVs. So I'd say both.

Apple was a snoozefest. Apple didn't really do anything that was demonstrably new. They just took existing products and mildly revised them, but nothing that is a true innovation.

I dumped my old iPhone and got a Pixel 2XL NOS being blown out at Bestbuy. I am quite happy. Never going back.

I have an Alcatel Tetra "burner" phone for my OOA phone and it is surprisingly good for how dirt cheap it is. I have an iPhone 7 and there just isn't a reason to upgrade. The new ones offer me no advantage.

@MD- We have reached peak phone. It only goes downhill from here. This is why Apple is doubling down on services. Hardware growth will continue to slow and they need to replace that revenue somehow.

The photos on newer phones are dramatically better, that is the compelling value prop for upgrading these days. The Pixel 3's photos are stunning, I'm sure iPhone 11 is similar. Gaming and productivity app performance are the other reasons to upgrade. I don't game, but can use a Pixel 3 as a makeshift laptop to work anywhere in the world. If you don't care about photography, games, or working mobile, then a $200 phone will likely do.
