WHICH and WHY? Which EV Has YOUR Attention? The All-new Porsche Taycan Or Mercedes EQS Concept?
In the wonderful world of electric vehicles, we've gained two all-new entrants.

One is hitting production in form of the all-new Porsche Taycan. The other has been shown at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show as the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQS.

While they both have similar goals in propelling passenger via an electric powertrain, they're both doing it in different ways. The Porsche is obviously far more driver oriented. The Mercedes, on the other hand, looks more like a café — luxury is the priority.

Although I understand one is merely a concept vehicle, we've seen the EQS undergoing testing at the Nürburgring. In other words, it will be put into production in due time.

So, I've got to ask: WHICH luxury EV has your attention? The all-new Porsche Taycan or the concept Mercedes-Benz Concept EQS?

Both are very compelling.

I bet the production EQS is going to be incredibly smooth, quiet and luxurious.

Agreed, The EQS is going to run circles around the Taycan and Model S sales wise, lately benz has been nailing what their audience wants and more so LISTENING to their feedback

That's because it is real car, and the EQS is just a concept. The real model will resemble it, but won't be exactly like it just like the Taycan differs from the Mission E. Concept cars are just that. Concepts.

When there are as many Public High Voltage charging stations within 10 miles of my house as there are Gas Stations - I might consider an EV (ANd remember - I drove Hybrids for work for years). Today - they can make a hybrid - that actually drives like a real car (No CVT) - yet has no real mileage limitations because I can fill the tank in minutes.

Both. The Taycan and the EQS are on separate missions. They Taycan is a sports car. The EQS is a luxury barge.

All the above. It's great to see this revolution going on with the car industry, can't wait to test drive some of these new entries into the market.

The EQS has a lot of pressure on it. While the EQC is an”okay” choice, the “S-Class of EVs” need to really raise the bar above the Model S. It does not need to compete with the Taycan because it shouldn’t be performance oriented, at least not at launch. It needs to be a thoroughly luxurious, reliable, and with great per-charge range in addition to fast-charge abilities. And it need to be beautiful and and distinctive from other Benzes.
