Truck Maker Navistar To Build $250 Million Truck Plant In Texas

Commercial truck maker Navistar will build a new $250 million manufacturing facility in Texas as part of the Illinois-based company's four-year plan to grow its business.

The investment, which is contingent on incentive approvals, will create about 600 new jobs in the San Antonio area, the company said Thursday.

I think we will see this trend continue. Low tech manufacturing jobs will continue to bleed out of the midwest and coasts moving to the south for cheaper labor and land, while high tech jobs will continue to be clustered on the coasts or near prominent higher education. I read an article the other day how IT is really growing New York and United Technologies (Make Jet Engines among other things) recently moved a lot of their engineering into NYC (I think it was just over 1000 people).

Rivian is a good example of the above... check out the About section of their web site, engineering etc... on the coasts, manufacturing in the heartland, in this case Illinois.
