Tesla Roadster Or Porsche Taycan - Which Would You Rather Have Gracing Your Driveway?

Tesla Roadster Or Porsche Taycan - Which Would You Rather Have Gracing Your Driveway?
The Tesla killer mumbo jumbo on the Porsche Taycan is definitely behind us. We have already proved Porsche’s first EV is on a different league regarding price. If it were not, it would probably be beaten hard by the Tesla Model S in any comparison. But Tesla will have a product to compete with the Taycan in price: the second-generation Roadster. How would they compare? Ask the video above about it.

Different form factors and different purposes. Add in an Audi e-tron or Jaguar i-pace and you'll have the perfect BEV garage. Then add one classic air cooled 911 or a Singer.

Yes, although the Roadster does seat 4 and has two trunks.

Maybe they meant the "Taycan".

I'd take a Taycan for the simple fact I would live longer. If the new Tesla Roadster has 800hp, 1,000hp or 1,200hp from its batteries and electric motors saying it may be a handful is an understatement.

Taycan

Righ. Taycan everyday.

Tesla is still a (boutique) brand. They need to survive maybe 10 years alone before being considered stable. It's still a huge take-over risk.

I'm saying that if it was a $100k car like the Model S Performance and not a $200k one, it wouldn't hold a candle to the S. Today it is double the cost and is still not better in every way like it should be for the price.

Based on the video, I don't think Elon knows how to smoke weed. It's probably for the best lol.

Sorry, wrong thread. Tesla will be pretty tough to take over at this point.

I take issue with the statement that the Model S wins every comparison save for price. Elon builds to stats for PR purposes. In the first close head-to-head the S failed and had to be towed on the Ring.
Elon has resorted to first avoiding the Ring and falsely claim a record at Sebring, a much shorter and less challenging track. Now the fanboys at InsideEVS.com and Autospies are claiming the new, won't be available for at least 2 years, only a 2 seater will undoubtedly beat the Porsche. Sober up.
Plus, the Porsche will have a much better interior and build quality.
Before you mention range, Porsche intentionally limited the range to be able to have more effective cooling so that it can handle challenging driving and will not catch fire. It also accommodates faster charging.
So, um, what is it that Tesla wins?

If Porsche cut the Taycan budget in half, it would not fare well.

I have no idea what your statement means, "if Pirsche cut the Taycan budget in half.."
It is nonsensical. Were you smoking weed with Elon again?

Roadster without a doubt. If you're spending $200k, you might as well get the best car out there.

Except the roadster does not exist. The Porsche is in production. You guys are so desperate to support Tesla you are claiming a win for a car that does not exist yet.

It is the as saying the Miami Dolphins are the best team in football, once they get all the players they want in the next 2-3 years.

I'll take the Porsche, mostly because it's a real car.

Are you kidding? Roadster all the way. Will easily blow the doors off of a Taycan, not to mention just about everything else.

600 mile range is the cherry on top.

Porsche for sure, but how do you compare a sedan to a sports coupe? Besides, the Tesla is vaporware.

Easy. Tesla Roadster. I have no problem with Porsche fans loving their Taycan "Turbo S" in my rear view mirror.

Solar Tiles have shipped, super slow ramp. Haven't seen any roofs in Silicon Valley with them yet. Loop is being built in Vegas & LA already.

You have no idea how many hardcore Tesla enthusiasts are out there. With V10 out, I'm seeing other owners testing out Smart Summon in parking lots and blowing minds. I'm sure you'll see an article about it soon.

"It'll be 20-30 years before we have self driving cars" they say here. Today you can control a Tesla like an RC car in any parking lot.

They may not be on time (I waited 2 years for a car.. twice), but they eventually deliver what is promised.
