STUD OR DUD? Dealership Instagram May Have Leaked Upcoming Genesis GV80 SUV

Genesis is readying its first SUV. The so-called GV80 (inspired by the concept with the same name) will debut at the end of the year. So far, we've only seen spy photos and renderings of the upcoming SUV, which barely provide any clues as to the final product's styling. But new images appear to preview what could be the production GV80 in the sheet metal.

The photos come courtesy of Genesis Of Freehold, a New Jersey-based Genesis dealership. The group posted multiple images on their official Instagram account (embedded below) on September 18 of what appears to be the production GV80, or something close to it. The caption reads: "Some new spy photos of the #gv80 #genesis."

Kill it with fire.

That's just not nice. If it had a Hyundai badge on it, then it would make sense. Putting it up against the premium badges is just going to be an uphill battle.

I hope this is not what it looks like. This thing looks like a mess. Why would anyone who likes the Hyundai brand pick this over a Telluride or Palisade?

THey wouldn't if they bought cars completely logically - but they don't.
People buy premium (Even wannabes) cars for prestige - often lesser makes are equivalent in features - even offer better performance in higher models -but they don't offer the Exclusivity of the premium brand.

It takes Decades for a Manufacturer to establish a near premium brand - and those that move beyond that to real premium desirability needs something more. IT will depend not just on the price - but as Matt can tell you - how much money they leave on the hood for salesman incentive - whether the "depiction" will do well - because that is how Hyundai/Kia sell cars - with DEEP DISCOUNTS. ANd if they don't offer them - the cars just sit on the lots.

It just looks like a rush design trying to push it because of high demand in crossovers. It looks terrible.

If that's accurate, it's very attractive.

Looks like a cheap Chinese knockoff of a Bentley

Looks more like a Bentley than the Bentayga.

That can't be real. It looks like something from the 1980's Chrysler.

Well it is only one angle but it does look ok other than the giant grill syndrome.

Is everyone so obtuse (especially pathetically incorrigible Agent 009) to not realize this is just a rendering and not the real deal? Folks really do not pay attention, when the obvious is clearly right in front of them.

The problem is that Hyundai-Kia has so spegacked the roll out of Genesis that it probably doesn't matter at this point.
