Edmunds Snubs Tesla's Model 3 From Best EVs Under $40k List

Edmunds released its list of the best electric vehicles under $40,000, highlighting the fact that you can purchase an eco-friendly vehicle without breaking the bank. Five cars were included on the list, however, one extremely popular car was missing: the Tesla Model 3.

The online resource for car buying came out with a list of five cars that are considered affordable and do not receive any of its power from petrol. Edmunds released the list on Twitter and included a video. “Tesla may have captured consumer’s imaginations with its futuristic and pricey vehicles, but there are affordable EVs out there that cost less than $40,000,” Elana Scherr said, who is seen in the Edmunds video.

EV's are powered by oil or coal fired power plants. The batteries are highly toxic and will seriously pollute the ground when buried.

They didn't just not include Tesla they snubbed them. Webster defines snub as "to treat with contempt or spurn disdainfully." Wow! Poor Elon.

The average transaction price for the model 3 is still about $50K. It would be wrong to include it in the under $40 K category.

Still, the average transaction price is about $50 K. They realized this fact and this is why it was left off. Tesla does everything they can to dissuade consumers from buying this model.
Better options under $40 K.

I don't think they realized you could get a Model 3 for under $40k.

They do realize it. Your world view is crumbling.

Tesla's quarterly sales are up, 97,000 cars delivered last quarter, overwhelming majority were new sales not preorders, and the backlog for Q4 is higher than it was in Q3 which means orders continue to rise.

Still think they'll report a loss for the Q, but it should be smaller than last quarter building up to a shot a profitability in Q4 (I hope).

They're up for the quarter which is really all that matters from a sales number perspective.

Uh, this is the reality: https://cleantechnica.com/files/2019/10/Tesla-Quarterly-Deliveries-2012-2019-Q3-CleanTechnica.png

There was both a QoQ and YoY sales increase.

Funny how incentives have already been cut twice and sales keep going up.
