Most reports say the Golf will not come to the USA. The overpriced GTI will, but not the Golf.

The GTI is most definitely NOT overpriced MD, at least if you appreciate clean, near timeless German design, have a great passion for driving and build quality in the near realm of Audi & Porsche. I've been lucky enough to have owned a number of "cool" cars... Four Porsches including a '93 RS America, an '89 944 Turbo S, two Audi S4s, a '73 V12 E Type Convertable, and a slew of Mercs and BMWs. In terms of a daily driver, none of these cars can compete with my GTI... The versatility of a hatch (again, combined with handsome, simplistic German Design), unreal build quality @ these price points, and fabulous handling characteristics (thanks in no small part to it's size, wickedly well-sorted chassis & great brakes!). Looking forward to my fourth one in a row in August of next year. BTW MD, I enjoyed your earlier posts (in another thread) regarding climate change. :)
