Uhh Yeah, Telsa Will Soon Let You Use Animal And Farts Sounds For Your Horn

Elon Musk says that Tesla is working on allowing owners to customize their horns and other sounds made by their cars, including fart and goat noises.

Recently, both the US and EU made it mandatory for electric vehicles to emit a sound at low speed in order to prevent pedestrian accidents.

Automakers have started implementing their solutions.

The gov't and EV haterz wanted obnoxious pedestrian alert fake noises, well now they got them.

Who needs to make money when you have cars that um "fart"? Problem solved. Musk really is a genius!

Laugh, but it's quirky/unique stuff like this that helps build an emotional attachment to the car. I'm definitely going to go with the coconut sounds from Monty Python for Summon. You might even be able to upload your own sounds to the car.

Meanwhile, Porsche charges $500 for a mp3 file of a fake motor.

But what give you the right to pollute my world with your car making farting noises? I may have to consider a frivolous lawsuit.

Blame the government for requiring EVs to make sounds. They don't today and I haven't heard of any blind people being run over by an EV.

Typical Liberal response: blame someone else. NEVER take personal responsibility.

I'm more of a a libertarian, not a liberal.

Libertarians are just Liberals who don't want to be called Liberals.

Think Libertarians share more financial views with Republicans (minimize taxes, government size, etc.) and perhaps social views with Democrats minus the rules and regulations.

I'm not begging for anything. I think the most fair solution is to kill subsidies for everyone, including all tax incentives for oil and gas generation. Let the best product win.

And they would pay an extra $100 billion in taxes if there weren't subsidies.

Actually - Horn sounds in a Road GOING car are regulated by most states DOT or equivalent. THat means that you can HAVE a weird sound(There are lots of them already) - but you will probably not be able to use it on the road. No DOT is going to approve Farting noises as a warning. In addition - of course - Noise pollution laws limit the Loudness of the horn as well

Sounds are now required for EVs. The requirement kicks in January 1st, but every new Model 3 already has the external speaker needed for it. The forward drive sounds like white noise and the reverse sound is more like something from the Jetsons. Super unnecessary but hey, at least there may be some entertainment value coming up.

As for the horns, you got me... thought those were regulated as well.
