CAR WARS! WHICH Would You Rather? A 2020 Chevrolet Corvette OR A Used Audi R8?

CAR WARS! WHICH Would You Rather? A 2020 Chevrolet Corvette OR A Used Audi R8?
So, this week brought the review of the all-new, 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. While we've seen some pretty exciting sports car launches, this one may take the cake.

There's a couple reasons for this.

First, it is a huge shift for General Motors' Chevrolet Corvette. Remember, this is the same fan base that freaked out when pop up headlights went away. To go from a traditional, front-engine setup to a mid-engine setup is monumental.

Second, its performance really is staggering for the base Stingray model equipped with the Z51 package. You've got to respect the numbers coming out of initial testing. Zero to 60 in sub three seconds. Quarter-mile times in 11 seconds. It's bananas.

But one has to wonder with all of the options out there, if the all-new, C8 Corvette is the one to have.

Having said that, we wanted to make things interesting: Would YOU rather have the C8 Chevrolet Corvette or a used, first-gen Audi R8?

R8's are holding their values. For now, at least.

Without question, the Vette.

Right I think the only cars I’d choose the R8 over are an i8 or NSX, this was a walk in the park for the Vette vs the dinosaur

Hmmm...new faster and better looking vs ancient and slower.

Not to mention a new car warranty and much lower maintenance costs. Vette all the way!

Hands down: Corvette. It looks better and will be far more reliable all while giving equal or better performance.

A Chevy or a high end Audi? I take the high performance Audi!
I am tired of the plastic smell of my Corvette C7.

Do you smell the smell when you're in it?

I owned and loved a first gen. V10+ R8. It was a great statement car at the time, but not the best sports car. Much preferred my 991.2 Turbo S - better handling, better brakes and quicker. But the sound of the V10 was wonderful. Today, I'd go for the C8 over a used R8.

A rare bird, indeed.

I love Audi... but why would someone choose 2008 technology over 2020. I would just get the Vette because of that, but would pass on both if that was my only two options. The Vette is more and more a poor man's Ferrari. I heard someone say it would be more reliable than the R8, that wouldn't be true unless the R8 wasn't properly taken care of.

Corvette by far and for a lot less money.

Corvette. The Audi does not looks special. The Vette looks aggressive in a uniquely American way.
I agree with 80Ho that the NSX in a fine car, but at nearly $100 K more than the Vette, hard to justify.

Audi R8! Both will be costly to maintain! Audi has the more conventional interior styling which I like more then the claustrophobic pilot type cockpit in the C8!

I would take either one if you are giving one of these away. If an R8 please make it the V10+.
