SPIED on the STREET! The All-new Lexus LC500 Convertible Gets Snapped During LA Photoshoot
Since the launch of the Lexus LC500 concept vehicle, we've been a fan of its design. From every angle it is a good looking product.

Is it polarizing? Sure.

I am pretty sure that's the point of any really good automotive design today. It's to make you feel something. Whether you love or hate it is up to you.

Recently snapped working its way around downtown Los Angeles was the all-new LC500 convertible. Although the drop top variant kind of caught us by surprise, it makes sense.

Perhaps Lexus noted its missed opportunity with an LFA convertible?

Painted a bright blue with an ivory and blue two-tone interior, the all-new LC500 convertible appears to be doing what it does best: Get attention. According to Carscoops, it appears that Lexus was filming and photographing the vehicle for what's speculated to be promotional materials for the LC500 convertible's launch. I think the Porsche Cayenne camera/chase vehicle gives it away.

Lovely car. I'm not a convertible person, but this takes a great car and adds desirability.

Yes. Lexus is going from 5 people who desire the LC to 8

Lexus has not marketed this car AT ALL and it needed to on introduction.

I think we all knew a convertible version was coming, but the way the bodywork rises aft of the door with the stub of the old roofline cut off is a bit odd. At least it is a true convertible and not a targa top pretending to be one as it the fashion today.

I'll wait for the F version.

I see pretty much every high end and exotic car around here and to date I have seen one LC500 hardtop.

If the goal was exclusivity, Lexus has hit a home run with this. If the goal was to sell more than 11 of them, not so much.

Lexus botched the living hell out of the car's launch and sale.

They weren't in it to win it. It sells with a 20-25% discount for the asking. My wife adores hers. It's a great car, but not for $100K.

It should have been $60K base with the convertible and LCF hot on its heels. The Lexus LCF should have been priced like a base or near-base 6 series.

The front end is absolutely stunning. The rear half, like the coupe, is just ungainly. This car is way too little, way too late. The coupe is far off its monthly sales targets since month 2. Even old farts like the Benz SL is besting its sales (and it costs more at that). And the 8 series is crushing it YTD despite on,y being available a short time.

Lexus needs to figure their stuff out. They don’t build the best luxury cars. They don’t build the best sporty cars. Not even sure they build the most truly reliable car anymore. I think a strong indication of what’s wrong with the brand is the RC-F Track Edition. The car starts above a C63S coupe and M4 but gets absolutely spanked at the...wait for it...track. Look at the results of the Lightning Laps this month over at C&D. Yes the C63s had better tires, but only marginally. And it was a significant gap for the price the RC-F TE is asking.
