The anticipation for Mazda’s pre-production EV concept is building up as we’re getting closer to the world debut on October 23 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

 

While the automaker’s official teasers have been less revealing than extreme cold weather clothing, we can now show you a clear photo of the MX-30 Concept, as the EV is curiously named.

This is a terrible idea on a car that is already unimpressive across the board--120 miles of range for $40k??

Also, look at the photos with both doors open... you can still barely get into the back seats. There is no way two tiny suicide doors is more practical than 2 regular sized normal doors. I doubt there are any cost savings either since materials requirements are similar.

Those are a thousand times more practical. You get full access to the 2nd row and in the right spot you can access the 2nd and 3rd row. You can also stand under the wing, which is helpful if you have kids and need to put a baby in and out of a child seat.

PS. There is a manual latch, there are not 100% electric like most people think.
