The Model Y will be Tesla's biggest seller. That should bug the haters even more.
If they can produce enough, revenues, EBITA, cash flow, LT debt and stock price will take care of themselves.

@80Ho - The 4Runner isn't dead yet. My dog is 85lbs and travels around in a XL sized Airport crate as he freaks out otherwise. There is so much stuff to take to a 24hr event I put a Thule XL 21cft box on the roof. I would not be caught dead driving a Model X. But a BEV solid state 4Runner of the future would be of interest. Wifey would likely drive a BEV as a 2nd car if she ever appeared out of the blue...

@FAQMD - I saw that interview. As a guy who bought his first dog with only 3 working legs and got her a titanium hip (she was good for another 11 years) I was a bit shocked. But nothing in this world stinks quite like a big dog that has rolled in something dead or met up with a skunk.

To OttoC - It's not just the size of the dog, it's the crate he goes in.

That means the car was locked, the same would scene would have played out in any car with any door handle.

No. It means that the door handles failed.

If the car is locked, door handles don't work.

The factory is making Model Ys already. Capital costs for getting the line up and running are half the cost of the Model 3, glad to see they learned a few things from the rough rollout of the 3.

On the earnings call yesterday, the Tesla CFO mentioned Model Y will cost the same to build as the Model 3. Pat of this is the reduced capital spend per unit, and the rest is improvements in building the car itself even though it is larger (75 parts are being consolidated into a single piece, new electrical system that only needs 100 meters of wiring versus 1.5 kilometers in the Model 3).

No prototypes...no engineering...just crank out the garbage

Prototypes spotted all over the place. You should check out other car sites too.

Well if Elon's concubine says so, it must be true.

For the Y, it looks like they are not taking any chances. Now there are dozens of them, I suppose you can call them release candidates at this point.

Tesla is too boring to consider. I am not driving a Tesla golf cart.

Maybe, but a Tesla will definitely be driving you someday.

The question is how many years will it be before people start saying "I'm grabbing a Tesla" instead of "I'm grabbing a Taxi/Uber/Lyft"

Quite a bit of it for sure.
