DRIVEN + VIDEO: It's D-Day! The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Reviews Are OUT — So, What's The VERDICT?
When news hit that Ford would be providing a Mustang that underwent the Shelby tuning, I think it's safe to say that most expected the GT500 to debut right out of the gate. But, there was a curveball.

Instead, Ford dropped the GT350 on us.

That made one thing clear: There was plenty of room for an even more powerful Mustang. That's where the GT500 would come into play and take on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) Hellcat V8 and General Motors Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Camaro ZL1.

Well, that day has come where the very first reviews are published. So, how did it do?

See below, Spies!

Sounds like an amazing drive!

For the money though, I'd prefer a C8.

OK the one the De Muro was reviewing lack of rear seats but the one that he is driving has rear seats then I guess he show the features of the one with the carbon package and the one that he is driving lack of the carbon package.

Carbon Packaged production models I've been told will be in very short supply, likely commanding a premium over normal model premiums.

4,000+ pounds and slower than a C8 Corvette with far less power. It is the King of Mustangs for those who want that sort of thing. Just try not to kill yourself on the first day.The laws of physics always apply, day or night.

When it all done, your GT500 is little different in appearance to the little old lady driving her 4 cylinder engine base Mustang going to the grocery store.

If I were buying a Mustang I think the 2 models with the best value are the HPP Ecoboost 4 with the reworked Focus RS engine and the handling package or the Bullitt Mustang. The HPP at least sounds a little better and has probably the best ride versus handling compromise of the entire Mustang fleet(especially if you want to autocross). The Bullitt offers a lot of extra's you would have to add on to the Mustang premium with the advantage of the 20 extra horsepower, nicer sound and the cool simplistic styling and that beautiful color.
