Arteon is a good example of bad pricing. Same thing killed the Stinger.

So true. Both are overpriced 25% at the high end.

Passat is now an afterthought. Europe gets a newer version, I think.

This Passat is based on the previous Jetta with the wheelbase lengthened and the footprint widened, but not from the centerline out but rather from the outside edges out. Thus when you sit in a Passat, the instrument cluster is off center to the middle relative to the driver's seat. The new American Passat for 2020 is just the old one with a styling redo.

A lot of people, myself included, are waiting for the first ID models to be available in the US. The e-Golf is a nice car, but far too little range for anything more than a city car. I couldn't even drive to my parents home and back without serious range concern (about 90 miles). They've offered some nice PHEV versions in Europe, but never brought one here. The ID.4 is the first model we'll get that actually checks the boxes.

I'd still consider another diesel from VW, but I doubt we'll ever get new ones again, so for me it's time to electrify.

I'm still trying to decide which brand has lower quality: Tesla or VW.
