As I write this brief piece, at this second Agent 001 is sprinting through the California desert. His mission? Get to Las Vegas.

Provided a 2020 Lincoln Aviator for his journey to Sin City, I am pretty sure 001 is getting more familiar with Lincoln's 30-way power seats and its all-new Intelligent Cruise Control functionality.

SEMA Show 2019

As usual in late October/early November, it's time for the SEMA Show. This is the aftermarket event where folks from all walks of life come together to show off their creations. It's the hot spot for the latest trends and understanding how customers are modifying their rides.

We're particularly excited for 2019 as we've been told this will be a special year.

Nothing says SEMA like a completely stock Lincoln Aviator.

Or, it could just be a great vehicle for a 4-5 hour, one-way trip...

The Aviator is glorious. I got my hands on one for the trip to Newport Beach this past weekend. I truly loved it.

So, Matt. What's it gonna be if you were choosing?

Navigator or Aviator?

Neither. Given the size of my family, a Navigator makes more sense, but (1) my wife adores her Escalade and (2) while the Navigator is excellent, the Aviator is more excellenter LOL.

My wife was raised in wealth and like to change cars frequently, but the Escalade is a keeper for her. She truly loves it. She thought she would love the Lexus LC, but she's learned that it's not practical. I could probably convince her that she should swap the LC for an Aviator.

She loved borrowing the Telluride, so I've driven the LC to Newport Beach a few times and a twice to Tucumcari and back. I've probably driven the LC as much or more than she has. It's truly a wonderful car.

The last time I went to Newport Beach, she surprised me and took off to Santa Barbara in the Charger to go shopping with the girls. So my business partner/ grandfather figure, Edward (a spry 82), came to my house in his Aviator. I always drive. I told him we'd be in the LC. To which he said: "I'm not riding in that damned thing!" So, I offered the Escalade, which he rejected because he dislikes GM. That's ironic given that he is a major co-owner of two GM dealers. So, we took the Aviator and I drove.

I adored my Continental, but the Aviator is truly "one piece". The Continental was a massive, quickly contrived, SuperFusion Hail Mary move and its SuperFusionness showed here and there. The Aviator is really nice but it's in far too big of a demand for me to snag one for a "rental".
