Isn't It Already Too Late? Infiniti To Reboot Lineup With 5 New Models In Next Three Years
Infiniti plans to launch five new vehicles in the next three years.

The first of those models, a coupe version of Infiniti's flagship QX50 crossover, will arrive in U.S. dealerships next summer.

The QX55, expected to be powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the QX50, features a sloping roofline inspired by the first-generation FX performance crossover. While the new coupe shares design elements with the QX50, the front fascia is different and sports a new grille design.

Infiniti has already had a few "reboots." Aside from the G35/Q50 (pick any number and letter combination for the RWD mid-size car) and the first V-8 powered crossover, they have little else memorable and it has been a long time since they were viable.

Agree with Truthy, going to be tough for Infinity to come back. The mis-steps from the initial low key strange launch, to the letter/number change up after G and M had started to make a name for themselves. 1) Before they try a reboot they need to fire marketing lock stock and two smoking barrels, 2) revamp upper management, 3) invest in the products, they need class leading power trains, engines like the old Z related motors should have been sent to the scrap heap years ago! Good luck, I hope they do survive and become a player in the near luxury/luxury market.

Nothing about Infiniti even ticks the slightest level of excitement for me anymore. I remember drooling over the G35 coupe in 2004. I remember loving the exhaust sounds of the FX45. But, man, not a single thing from Infiniti would even make me do a double take. Maybe..and that's a big maybe..the Q60, but its interior is so dated. Actually, and I might be the only one here, I do like the QX80, but I don't need a big SUV in my life.

Johan de Nysshen ran both Infiniti and Cadillac. You could write the same story about either brand. A few decent sedans that are almost there in the luxury market, and the rest of the lineup is uninspired rebadged mainstream SUVs. Neither brand has a "must have" vehicle and both have talked about rebooting. Not likely.

Make the QX60 a proper luxury vehicle...not a lightly refreshed rental queen with a rough engine and a CVT.

Mazda
Nissan
Infiniti
Volvo
Chrysler
Fiat

There are now numerous brands on the market that could disappear tomorrow and nobody would care as they contribute very little to the vehicle market globally. With Nissan you can keep the Leaf and the Patrol and throw away the rest.

I would save Mazda and Volvo from your list.

I think Nissan is still too big to die, but the rest are worthless. Off with their heads.

Add in Alfa Romeo (dead for sales) and Maserati (even more dire).
