Land Rover debuted the newest generation of its iconic Defender in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and now we have some additional details about the automaker’s sales plan for the U.S. market. We spoke with Joe Eberhardt, president and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America, who offered some new information about the Defender models the company plans to send to our shores.

I would still like to think the biggest markets for this vehicle are outside of North America. Be it used by the military, as an ambulance, safari vehicle etc vs a mall ride for rich Mom's and their kids. I don't think a work van model would be price competitive with the Euro offerings from Ford and Nissan that I see on the street these days.

Company has already announced in UK automotive weekly magazine that a Defender truck not in their plans.
