Will Ford's All-new Mach-E Make A MOCK-ER-E Of Audi’s E-Tron?

Will Ford's All-new Mach-E Make A MOCK-ER-E Of Audi’s E-Tron?
We're passed the 2019 SEMA Show, so, you know what that means. Onto the next one.

That would be the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS). Now that the Detroit Auto Show is pushed back to the summertime, this means that the LA show is really the last blockbuster event in 2019.

The rest will have to wait until the 2020 Geneva Motor Show (GIMS) in March. We're looking forward to a spicier LA show. Let's see if SoCal delivers.

Having said that, we're eager to see what Ford has cooked up for us with its debut of the all-new Mach-E. From what we've been hearing this is the name — for the time being. We'll know soon enough.

We're thinking though that this product from Ford may have a shot at outdoing some other examples of fully electric sport-utility vehicles that are on the market today. That would include products such as the Audi E-Tron SUV and Mercedes-Benz EQC.

So, we've got to ask, Spies. What do YOU think? Will the all-new Mach-E make a mockery of the Audi E-Tron and Mercedes EQC? Or, will it be just another electric vehicle let down?

If this gets 300 miles of range and does 0 -60 in under 5 seconds for less than $50k - as promised - then yes, the E-Tron, I-Pace and EQC have some 'splainin to do.

While I'm unsure this would have an interior that competes with the Audi or Mercedes, I agree that if the range and price come as announced, then it could/would have an impact on the Germans' products. I don't even think the 0-60 has to be that quick, but since Ford is boasted on it's Mustang inspiration, then it should perform just fine.

There will always be some people who think a brand of car means something (Example - Jensen) - and they are status seekers and those who actually have the status too. However - while I never considered Audi to be top tier Premium (More like 2nd tier with Infiniti and Buick and Lexus) - FORD remains entry level Mass Market - and they don't sell to the same buyers.

No, just a mockery of the Mach model name. Choose something else.

Audi is not standing still, E-Tron S was caught in the wild testing.

How much $ and how far is the range? If Ford doesn't do their job at the right price and with impressive range, the new Mach E car will be called a Moostake and not a Mustang.
