Tesla Slaps The Face Of The Germans With Announcement Of Berlin Assembly Plant

Tesla has been very successful so far in challenging the status quo in the luxury car segment, especially after the launch of the Model 3, which has become a bestseller all over the world.

Germany’s big three premium carmakers now have another reason to worry, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced massive investment plans in the land of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Tesla said it would build its next factory near Berlin, along with an engineering and design center.

That's right, because the car quality is already up.

I'm sure Brexit had a bit to do with it too. Why wouldn't you locate your new plant inside a common market with 300m consumers?

And the Germans are laughing at the prospect of a money losing enterprise trying to establish a foothold in Germany while they make billions in profits.

And Tesla just overtook Mercedes to become the 3rd largest automaker by market cap in the world.

"And Tesla just overtook Mercedes to become the 3rd largest automaker by market cap in the world"

Irrational exuberance.

Market cap means very little in this instance. It does not represent the true value of the brand. The stock will come down to multiples more in line with their actual performance.
Tell me SanJose, what is tesla revenue compare to Mercedes ? $100 billion with $15 billion in profits (just under 8 percent).
Tesla sales were $21 billion with a $1.0 billion loss. Now, which company do you think is worth more?

Chinese investments. A great way to get a foothold on the technology and access to markets after they backed the China plant expansion.

Mad Elon Musk is DESTROYING Astronomy around the world due to his blatant disregard of the his SpaceX sky interferences. Musk cares nothing of human science but only of his own narcissistic GREED.

Yeah, who would anyone ever want cheap and reliable internet from any point in the world. Clearly it is just a green thing...

Give me a break, there are already thousands of satellites in space and there will be tens of thousands in a decade.

OK so Tesla - a poorly run company that looses money on each car built is going into one of the most expensive cities in Europe that will surely Unionize (dog fuckers united) thusly driving up manufacturing costs and potential losses per car made.

This makes as much sense as calling a "real hero" diver a "pedo" (or the current Enron market cap figures)but what do you expect from dickhead, narcissist PT Barnum? Why not locate in Poland, Chech or another much cheaper/non union jurisdiction? I deeply regret NOT investing in Tesla early stage like I had wanted to but when I see this shit I am glad that I didn't these last few years with the illegal stock manipulation by Musk and all the other shenanigans he routinely pulls. Put Musk on a one way trip on SpaceX and be done with this clown once and for all. Get new experienced leadership like Don Walker from Magna Int'l and I am sure Tesla could thrive.

And Tesla stock is still lower than it was a year ago while the major indexes are all higher.

Tesla is actually losing market share to Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volvo. In the 3rd quarter all 4 marques saw revenue whereas tesla revenue shrank 8 percent.
Additionally, tesla profits fell 54 percent versus year ago 3rd quarter, while the other 4 saw substantial profit growth.
These are financial facts folks. Tesla is not gaining market share from luxury brands and their financial performance is more in line with Sears or Blockbuster.
So your stupid picture of Elon laughing looks more lake a madman.

Unit sales were higher at a lower price per unit, which is still sustainable on higher margins.
