RUMOR! Mole Tells Agents That Ford Mustang Mach-E Will Best Audi E-Tron SUV Range By MORE Than 100 Miles — Will Backlash Ensue?
When it comes to electric vehicles, probably the biggest sticking point today is how many miles it can achieve on a full charge. Rightfully so!

I am not sure about you, boys and girls, but I definitely do not want to find myself on the hard shoulder because I ran out of juice.

It seems as though this is a pretty fundamental thing all-new EVs should be boosting, right? Well, that's why we were shocked when Audi rolled out its e-tron SUV with a measely range of 204 miles on a full charge. 204 miles is NOTHING, especially when you consider how much the four rings is charging for an e-tron.

Having said that, we've been tipped off from a source that the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E, which will make its debut Sunday, that it will best the Audi by more than 100 miles on a full charge. In other words, the Ford will get at least 300 miles of range on a full charge.

IF true, this has us wondering: If Ford's Mustang Mach-E can achieve over 300 miles on a full charge, will this be the final nail in the coffin for the e-tron SUV? If so, will there be any other repercussions?

The Mach E and the E Turd will not appeal to the same clientele.

That's what they said about the Tesla Model 3 yet BMW is getting rocked...

WE still have no indication of just how large the market for EVs is going to be
And until we have real pricing - without Government Bribes to buy them - we really may not know for years.

Since EVs essentially just move the pollution from one place to another - they are not actually a GREEN solution - even if they may help places like california - where topographical features affect how the pollution is contained.

However - eventually - the "range" debate will have to work itself out to a "normal" range and an "extended" range until we have 5 minute charging.

AgentOOR, ask yourself this question. When was the last time you ever ran out of gas or let the car go to Zero without thinking, "I better stop for gas".

There are plenty of charging stations, and plenty more will be built. Your house is your own charging station. Can't say the same for a gas car to fill up at home.

And for the extreme emergency, you can charge on a 110v.

I have had some instances where I let my fuel dip below comfortable levels. It happens.

It's sort of a null question though because the folks who are buying EVs do want more miles on a full charge. People feel more comfortable and they can travel further without having to worry as much about charging/where to stop/etc. There's already enough headaches in the world. Why add more?

The network simply isn't there just yet when it comes to fast charging. And, you don't want to wait the time it takes to charge on a 240v let alone a 110v.

It is 1000% there in the case of Tesla. DC fast chargers will catch up for other companies as well, especially with hits like the Mach E. (BTW, Tesla can use those other stations as well... it's the only real future proof car brand for charging).

EPA estimates*

And, as forum users have pointed out, the numbers/specs are jumping around from when it was seen earlier today.

Hang on a little longer...

They are also targeting 300 miles with a 100 KWh battery and RWD only. The Model Y will do it with 75 KWh, which is a major cost advantage. There is room for improvement here, maybe with software updates since Ford will do OTA updates finally.

I can :) Both of these vehicles intend to broaden the base. I bought my first (and last) Chevy because it was electric.

I would entirely take this over the Audi, hands down.
