#LAAutoShow: The Agent's FIRST Impressions Of The Mustang Mach-E — We're Believers!
If there's one thing we like at AutoSpies, it's when automakers stop pulling punches and start swinging for the fences. They gamble.

The reality is we've been keeping our eyes peeled over the past 10 years and one thing is certain. When a manufacturer plays it safe, they get crushed from a product perspective. And with Tesla bearing down on everyone, it was time for someone to bring the heat.

From what we can tell, that's exactly what Ford's done with the launch of the Mustang Mach-E.

People will complain about it having a Mustang badge. People will chastise its looks. People will doubt its performance credentials. But one thing is certain: No other manufacturer has made an electric vehicle as compelling or as competitive to Tesla to date.

Ford accepted the challenge and delivered the goods. No ands, ifs or buts.

Simply put, the Model 3/Model Y and Mustang Mach-E have set the standard. The Audi e-tron SUV and Mercedes-Benz EQC are, frankly, embarrassing in comparison. What about the Taycan, you ask? It's just too damn expensive right now — hopefully the barrier of entry collapses, significantly. Does anyone even want to spend more than $75,000 on an electric vehicle?

We have more to share about the Mustang Mach-E. But we'll keep that for the coming days as we get even better acquainted.

Mustang has large loyal following built up over 55 years that will buy this as first transition to EVs.

At 1/3 the price and with a different target customer, I am willing to bet the Mustang outsells the Taycan.

I like it and seems like an outstanding effort by the blue oval.

Taycan is a completely different market. This competes directly with the Model Y. It is a very strong offering. Only big issue I can see right now is efficiency...this thing needs a 98.8 KW battery to get the same range as a Tesla using a 75KW battery, meaning the mpge will be significantly lower for the Mach E vs the Model Y

He works for Tesla.

I'd take the EQC over either of these. Its interior seems far superior in terms of luxury and design. Range seems to be on par, at least based on what's been published. Performance may be a bit lacking, but Mercedes tends to post estimates higher than actual.

EQC will be nicely finished but it will largely be a dud. The range on the Euro cycle is 259 mi so probably will be the same as the Audi on the US cycle (200 Miles or so), acceleration will be slower than the awd Mach E and Model Y, and the price is estimated to be in the $80K range.

Tesla is first tier in EV and Ford third tier at this point. Would only be sane to lease.

Amazing how many EV haters have flip-flopped.
