California Says It Will Openly Discriminate Against Automakers That Dare To Side With Trump
The California state government has fired back against the Trump administration’s attempt to destroy the state’s emission regulations and those of ZEV states. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration enacted a directive yesterday which would prevent agencies from buying most gas-powered sedans and any vehicles made by the few automakers siding with Trump’s “EPA”.

Trump’s EPA is rolling back previously agreed-upon stricter emission regulations for the auto industry that would have forced automakers to produce more efficient vehicles, including electric cars.

The demented insanity of the California liberals is astounding.

Trump will bitch slap California full-force the day after he is re-elected and make no mistake, he will be re-elected. The failed impeachment proceedings will get people to vote for Trump to keep Democrats out because they see the Democrats' complete contempt for the rule of law and do not want to live under the communist/socialist/fascist regime the Democrats so desperately want.

So it's okay to openly discriminate in California now? Hypocrites.

Bribery is also the way that this current administration is run. If you follow the news the house of cards at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is about to crumble. Trump will declare victory and resign like Nixon instead of being thrown out. Onto new things. California's rights will be preserved as they are now, in writing. There are bigger fights to focus on like infrastructure and rising tides.

That "bribery" is called negotiation and has been going on since the close of World War II. ALL of the presidents have used it and have since then to get other nations to adopt policies and agree with ours.

@Agent009, agreed, but not in this case. Asking for an investigation of your political rivals and a public statement to that effect leading up to an election is not par for the course for the occupant of the White House. Not too many saints have held that seat, but they don't cross the line of using the power of the office for their own personal gain.

IMHO, the current administration is a direct by product of DECADES of inaction and inaction on BOTH sides. The public voted and got a disruptor.

You really should all look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are:

A) An American
B) A Republican
C) A Trumpian

The order should go from A-B-C not the other way around. The country and the party are permanent, the POTUS is not.

As for @Pugproud, the world over knows the CIA and NSA etc have been working behind the scenes for years in the name of National Security. They don't put their people at risk in order to personally benefit the electoral chances of the current occupant of the White House.

To CC loyalty by liberals run 1st to Power, 2nd to Party and third to Country. Every major US city run by liberals has high crime rates, crumbling roads and bridges, poor public health policies, enormous debt, large homeless populations living on the streets, poor schools, etc. Open your eyes man and see how many high ranking members of federal agencies corrupted their long standing reputations for political gains. Like them your ideology blinds you from the truth.

Like Trump and the car companies sit around going, "you know what sucks? Clean air. We hate that shit. Let's gang up against it."

The right of a state to set conditions within that state - such as emissions of vehicles sold there (Or speed limits) - is still an open question and will go through the courts as they always do.

California is saying they will engage in an unlawful business practice. The automakers will sue and win. California holds no cards.

How is It unlawful? Why can't California say "California will no longer buy cars made by automakers that do not meet all California's requirements including emission requirements"

Circular reasoning.

(1) You ask how it is unlawful but do not shut up long enough to get an answer.

(2) You then point to the predatory business practice of why it's unlawful and act as is the reason is the refutation.

(3) What going to happen is that California will be barred from being able to set different emission standards.

LOL @ comments from Canada where their media is controlled by the far left PostMedia company among others. They re-elected the blackface Trudeau if you can believe that. BTW, what they won't tell you is Trudeau got a very very slim victory. The liberals were squashed in Alberta and other provences.

California's Governor is a spoiled rich boi. He was a crappy mayor in SF and went on to a lifelong career in government, as is typical of lazy faire libs. His attempt at discriminating against those business that side with Trump, will fail because the courts will ultimately rule it unconstitutional.

BTW, I can't wait for the Inspector General's report to come out. LOTS of heads are going to roll, including those in the FAILbama administration.

"His attempt at discriminating against those business that side with Trump, will fail because the courts will ultimately rule it unconstitutional." What would be unconstitutional about it? We discriminate every day by not buying things that do not meet our requirements and government agencies do the same thing. Maybe I need to re-read the Constitution, I may have missed the Section about Trump says thus it is so.

Sorry but all those automakers DO meet California’s emissions requirements. This is literally extortion, either these automakers support California in its lawsuit vs the Federal Government on who sets those standards or they will be boycotted from participating in State contracts based solely on not supporting California. This is also a breach of the Fiduciary responsibility by public officials in the awarding of contracts based on the merits of the bid.

Govt of the people, by the people and for the people... typical Commie Libs, WE KNOW BETTER and you will do as we say... this will be thrown out by California's own Supreme Court... just like the unconstitutional "Candidate Tax Return" "law" was tossed... Liberals are all cowards... ALL of them...
