Is The Honda Civic Si The Best Car You Can Buy Under $30K?
If the concept of perfection is subjective, how do you improve upon near-perfection? In the case of the 2020 Honda Civic Si, you don't. Honda wisely left its lower-priced performance temple mostly alone for next year, throwing its congregation of engineers at some other automotive equation it hasn't solved yet. The Si already possesses sharp looks, vivid handling, and a low price. Why mess with success?

It’s close but with Dodge discounting 8 cylinder Chargers/Challengers to less than 30k, I think that’s where I’ll put my money

Honda Dealers also discount the Civic as well.

If we consider all the cars that are sold under $30K after dealers discounts - the Honda would have a lot more competition than at MSRP - but in reality - the Charger/Challenger are not in the same "Type" of car of the Civic as well as not being close at list.

Of course - the Honda also lists for more than 3 times the price of my first house!

Lol TomM I wouldn’t buy a non discounted civic anyway it’s still a 4 banger with limited space and a harsh ride, the Charger/Challenger is a much better deal even on its least discounted day LOL

And my condolences Jazzyjazz, however your profile name would suggest otherwise LMAO considering the roots of that genre

At 6’4 it would definitely beat getting in/out of a civic LOL

You may choose differently but you can never go wrong buying a Honda.

Actually, in the past you could have said that about Honda. Hondas today are not as reliable as the ones in the past:

I had a 1988 Honda CRX Si that was the best car you could buy back then. I had the greatest time driving that little squirt.

I'd agree the Civic Si is probably the best under $30K. But the Mazda3 sedan comes really close.

I would counter the Si with a 2-door Cooper S model for under $30k. comes in manual, better suspension and fun to drive. Better interior materials.

Under $30K? Mustang Ecoboost.
