Investing In The American Dream? Mustang Mach E To Be Built In Mexico Not The US

Naming its first all-electric crossover the Mustang Mach-E is certainly a controversial decision for Ford, as the new model does not have much in common with the iconic pony car, besides some styling references.

 

It’s the first time the Mustang name has been used on anything but a two-door car and Ford is hoping the nameplate will help its first all-electric SUV stand out from the competition. It’s a two-way street, however, since the move could also dilute the appeal of the nameplate if it proves unsuccessful.

Should not have used the Mustang name. Not even sure it is a great EV. Sure not a great SUV.

I think the made in Mexico strategy was a big part of Ford stating it will profit on each vehicle from day one. I guess they are treating this SUV like Toyota does the Corolla. Low margin vehicles are best made in the lowest wage country in the trading block.

A Mustang made in Mexico?

I was hoping I wouldn't be alive to see this.

It's a sad day all around. Ford should never have considered using the iconic Mustang name on a vehicle being made abroad.

They really wanted to build it in China, where the power train will be from.
