Steps need to be taken and no one single bullet it going to fix this problem. Remote work is just one answer. If people could work from home just one day a week, millions of cars would be off the road. Even better if it is a few days a week. Having worked remotely for years, I think have only driven 8,000km in the past 6 years. Change needs to happen and it must be embraced by all.

There are close to 263M registered vehicles of all types in the USA. They all can't be traded in on a BEV tomorrow. So we have to work with what we have for now. A strategy to get people to need to use their cars less and to drive them less when they do need them (drive to a public transportation hub vs going the full trip in your car). Eventually most cars will be BEV's but I don't think we have that kind of time...

You're attempting to legitimize the illegitimate rantings of the UN. If you can get an unintelligent person to propose a solution, you then can claim that the person legitimized your illogical argument.

Speech and debate was my friend in high school and my "grandfather" wanted to put me through law school. I chose a completely different route, did all the degree work (three degrees framed and on the wall), and then the car business was essentially handed to me.

PS: If you truly wanted an answer to "Any solution?" you would have shut up at that point and waited for an answer. BUT because you elaborated, two things are true: (1) You don't want to hear what others say (all of us already knew that) and (2) by trying to get the first punch in, you convey how weak you fear your position really is.

MATT There is NO question that the overwhelming majority(Over 99%) of the scientists from the scientific community all agree that global warming is real - and the science portions of the UN are pretty non-political. Most of the scientists mentioned by the idiots who disagree are NOT environmental scientists - and one of the most mention "Doctors" is actually an Economist - not a scientist at all. Our position is not at all in Jeopardy - when 45 decided to leave the Paris Accord -we note no other major country agreed and followed.

THere is also NO question that we have both Global warming - the average temperature of the climate has been setting records year after year - with 5 if te highest numbers in the last 7 years. And anyone who has land near an ocean already has lost land to the sea rising.

AND in fact - for the last 50 years - the USed Car Salesman has led the list of the least trusted people in the world - you must be so proud!!!!

It is not just the UN saying that we have an urgent need to cut greenhouse gases, it is also almost every single climate scientists world wide saying the same thing. It is very unfortunate and sad that science has been politicized as we are at a point in time that we need real science more than ever to inform us about many problems ranging from diseases to communications technologies to climate change. I would hope that having actual science and factual information would help our leaders make rational decisions and for ordinary citizens to support those decisions.
