Daimler Joins BMW And Audi In Slashing Jobs Worldwide
Daimler will cut at least 10,000 jobs worldwide over the next three years, following others in the industry as they cut costs to invest in electric vehicles while grappling with weakening sales.

Daimler, which owns Mercedes-Benz, revealed the 3 percent cut in its workforce on Friday after reaching an agreement on its plans with labor unions. It marks the third announcement on cost cuts this week by a major German automaker.

In Germany, where the largest number of Daimler employees are based, workers will be offered severance payments and early retirement, Daimler said in a news release.

Yep, a recession is coming. It also points to the importance of the tax cuts over a year ago to bring the US in line with our competitors. It provided US manufacturers the capital to invest in new development.

What other indicator denotes a recession other than a cyclical automotive trend? BTW vehicles are getting so expensive that certainly is a part of the trend.

Your buddy tRump just posted a picture of himself putting his face on Rocky 3's body and claiming it was not photoshopped despite how disgustingly obese he really is.
On the same day, Angela Merkel delivered a speech to a conference if economists on free speech in the digital age.
Wow, that tRump is SO presidential. Yea, the president of the US is posting pictures of himself as Rocky on Twitter. Cannot get this con man and dumbass kids out of the White House soon enough.

And you have no sense of humor.

Merkel advocated for the total eradication of freedom of speech actually. I watched the address.

So spare me the CTRL + V spews from your CNN buddies whom you use as your sole feed of "truth" on which you base your screen name.

And if you love the old bitch so much, move to the land of the Fourth Reich which is hellbent on Holocaust V2.0.

It is the tRump fall back on all his juvenile BS. "It was just a joke." That is not what Merkel said at all and she mostly used words too but for tRump to understand.

The industry's future looks bleak with pressure coming from all directions...political, technological, sociological, labor, raw material costs, over capacity, emissions, alternative transportation services, interlopers, etc etc Massive consolidation is on the horizon.

Agree, and reinvent the unions as well. I certainly want our auto workers to be paid well, however they need ti take much more responsibility for quality, innovation, efficiencies etc... and those costs for these well paid workers has to be spread across more vehicles which in the end will likely mean fewer workers.

Unions were created when there were no laws protecting workers. Workers are now very well protected under the law.

If unions move forward--and I believe they should not--workers MUST have the right NOT to belong to a union. All 50 states need to be right-to-work states. Furthermore, unions must be banned from all political action and confined solely to negotiating contracts.

Auto workers should be paid OK but not well. They are not brain surgeons. They put the same doodad on the car repeatedly. Not a huge skill.

You like the word "triggered" do you. Former GOP congressman Dent said that most GOP in congress are disgusted and exhausted by tRump.

He is a blithering idiot who disregards the US constitution and the norms of goverence.
At least the real Rocky that tRump thinks he is fought the Russian and did not bend over for him.
