Mr. Stroll did not get wealthy by making stupid decisions. His son is in F1 and he owns an F1 team. Much cooler in my mind than owning a car company. With a net worth of $2B he is doing fine, but not wealthy enough to go buy a car company or even controlling interest. If true, he may have investors behind him. Time will tell.

Prime Minister of Canada is demanding that Aston modify its glove box to accommodate a large size jar of Vaseline.

Justin Trudeau has a secret plan to relocate Aston Martin to Canada to make use of Ford's various abandoned/shuttered Windsor, Ontario plants. [Currently only the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MDX are made in Canada].

@mre30 - Aston sorta was already in Canada. Multimatic ran their Vantage R race team for a time. And they made the limited run Aston One-77 bodies too. Right here in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Perhaps if this were true Mr. Stroll could put an end to the optional "colour it yourself" Aston Martin bages that appear in the photo along with this article. NOBODY does this. The bage is your logo and the essence of your brand. Ferrari would tell you where to go and maybe not even sell you a car if you asked for a custom prancing horse badge for your car.

Better Aston be owned by the Canucks than by the ChiComs.

@MD That would allow the best possible future for the brand overall.. And for the Lagonda BEV super luxury brand too. Aston has been owned by "rich guys" in the past and it has not provided them with a stable future. A bit odd the major shareholders would sell at this time right before the Christmas Miracle (DBX SUV sales). Seeing where the market is today, I can't see how this SUV can fail. It should have a transformative impact on Aston's bottom line.

I predict failure. The DBX looks like a $25K Ford Escape. It's too "soccer mom" and not enough "Aston". It's price point is also $100K too high. It should have based under $100K to bring a massive volume increase to the brand. At $190K and looking like a $25K Escape, it will sell in the dozens.

@MD The numbers they need are so small I think it will do good by them. It was never going to be cheap and its looks are about on point and predictable for an SUV from an established brand that is known by it's face and rear end.

No bragging yet about customer interest or $100 deposits, but we will see what happens in the new year...

The greatest way to take make a large fortune and into a much smaller fortune is to invest in Aston Martin. I would think our Canadian friend would know that from the history of the AM brand. The brand is a dead idea walking, leave it to the bankruptcy court to sort out the mess. The Carnival Barker Palmer is gasping for air... now any publicity is good publicity for Aston... even if it is a false rumor to drum up interest in his dead brand.

Supposedly Aston has 150 orders for the track only Valkyrie at $4.5M pounds a pop. But Palmer says he could have sold 900 units. The demand is there. Might as well go back and make 500. If some are miffed, so be it. They need the money.
