The 2020 Jaguar F-Type Debuts A NEW Face, See It In THIS Walkaround — Are YOU Feeling It?

The 2020 Jaguar F-Type Debuts A NEW Face, See It In THIS Walkaround — Are YOU Feeling It?
When the Jaguar F-Type debuted it was an incredible product. It reinvigorated the Jaguar brand, which was hurting — and still is — and it brought forth a modern design for the leaping cat.

Today though it's long in the tooth. And the interior is dated.

When you compare it against the likes of the BMW 8-Series, Porsche 911 (992) and Mercedes-AMG GT it's a big step down. It's more inline with the C7 Chevrolet Corvette, which is quite concerning, to be straightforward.

To try and bridge the gap for 2020 Jaguar has refreshed the F-Type. The main event is its new "face." Elsewhere, the changes are minimal.

That said, purely from a design perspective, I've been wondering: Are the tastemakers at AutoSpies feeling the updated design?

Not distinguished enough to gain traction in a narrow competitive market segment.

It is a striking car when you see it out in public, very, very low and wide. You are choosing to walk to different path when you buy an F-Type. There are a lot of cars to walk past before you get to this one.

Agree, its footprint is unique/interesting.

However, this update is piss poor at best. The front doesn't match the side profile/rear end.

They gave it the dull face of an XE. This vehicle is dull as hell and $50K overpriced. A $35K Mustang GT will wallop it.

Worse than the last gen.

maybe Ford should buy Jaguar back and rescue it again.

Nope. Don't like it at all. Looks like a Jag XE nose. Original design was vastly superior.

This is 2 steps backwards from the original design...

Is this Callum's last stylistic rape at Jaguar?

Why does this new Jag look like almost every other two door coupe. It could have a Hyundai logo on it and no one would notice the difference.

It's still a handsome car, but Jaguar is having a difficult time making their cars look like Jaguars. The initial F-Type clearly was an attempt to call out the E-Type, with oval-ish headlamps reaching backwards across the hood. However, Jaguar has now fallen into the fallacy that they need to have a "corporate face" to distinguish their cars, and so have adopted the XE-XF headlamp style. The XE-XF are generic looking, and so the F-Type is now generic looking as well. Still handsome, but looking less like a Jaguar.

Callum's destruction of the brand is nearly complete. I wonder who he's actually working for.

Oh, and if you were wondering what the redesigned electric powered XJ will look like, now you know.

It would actually make a nice looking, cut-rate, Aston Martin - clam-shell hood and all.

Its 100% nicer than the current slate of Aston Martin designs.

I disagree.

Aston's designs are far superior...

Superior? The DB11 is somewhat handsome, however the Edsel-Vantage (i.e. the sucking on a lemon vantage) is hideous.

I have NEVER seen a new Vantage on the road in NYC, Hamptons, Westchester, Bergen County-NJ, or CT.

Any Vantages in California or Miami?

The DBX SUV is about as handsome as the Toyota-based Aston Cygnet..

HUGE improvement if Aston sold a rebadged F-Type as a $120,000 Aston

"When the Jaguar F-Type debuted it was an incredible product."

I assume you're using "incredible" in the pejorative connotation.

"It reinvigorated the Jaguar brand, which was hurting — and still is — and it brought forth a modern design for the leaping cat."

How can it have "reinvigorated" Jaguar but made no difference to Jaguar's plight?

Jaguar needs this coupe to be $45K base with a V8.
