The globe does climate go in cycles. However, and I'll try to keep this simple for you, the overarching trend is upward, dramatically. It started about 100 years ago, decades after the start of the industrial age. It has been accelerating in the last two decades. The CO2 in the upper atmosphere passed 4 ppm for the first time ever. The upper atmosphere is heating up faster, which is more problematic.
And before you and your anti-science Republicans say, but the earth has been warmer before" it took over 100,000 years to see the degree of global temperature change we are witnessing now.
