SPIED! Tesla's Elon Musk Takes The Cybertruck Out For A Spin In Malibu
Late last week Tesla's Elon Musk was making headlines for the trial related to his Tweet that described a man as "pedo guy." Tonight?

He's making waves as he took the Cybertruck out for a spin. Destination? Malibu. More specifically, Nobu.

And he wasn't alone. He had his girlfriend Grimes with him and he exited the notorious SoCal hot spot with Hollywood A-lister, Ed Norton. Musk was happy to show him the all-new electric vehicle.

As you can see below it appears the concept vehicle was being accompanied with some other Tesla employees as they formed a convoy to and from the restaurant.

That said, we're curious: What do YOU think of the Cybertruck NOW that you've seen it among other, normal vehicles?

Elon Musk turned heads as he took his brand new Cybertruck out for a spin in Malibu three weeks after the vehicle's disastrous debut.

The Tesla founder rolled up to celebrity hotspot Nobu in his garishly-futuristic electric truck on Saturday night with girlfriend Grimes and several other pals in tow.

Valets left the Cybertruck parked in front of the restaurant, allowing passersby to snag shots of it throughout the night.

After dinner, Musk emerged from the restaurant with actor Ed Norton, who appeared excited to check out the billionaire's whip...

It looks huge. It did not seem so big in the unveiling or with the F150 but for some reason this context makes it look massive, more like a military vehicle.

It might shrink a tiny bit based on the last comments, but interior and vault space would be the same. Even if they shave half a foot in length, it's still going to be a tank.

This is just more of Elon's bullshittery.

I think Elon's arrogance and out of touch approach to these larger vehicles will only help with Rivian which is taking a much more under the radar approach to a full size electric truck and SUV. Both companies can cater to their clientele, but it is apparent both are offering far different products for consumers in the EV space.

I haven't seen driving on the road, but sightings are pretty common in Palo Alto around Deer Creek (near the Tesla executive HQ). I only saw the one at the investor event and it is so similar to the 3 in looks that I would have a hard time spotting one from the distance. The black door handles are the easiest way to tell it apart from the 3.

The model Y is just a high roof Model 3 so it will be a total turd to look at.

I can't believe the guy runs a publicly traded company.

Its my belief that he wasted investor money on what is basically a Hollwood 'prop'. It is fitting that Tesla is based in California.

In my mind, clearly this vehicle is not going into production and the polarizing design is simply a publicity stunt - to distract from Tesla's more intractable problems. The whole thing is ridiculous.

Where is the sustainable profitability? By they way, why doesn't he drive the 'Model Y' to dinner? Because its gonna suck, just like the Model X sucked.

Has any California 'spy' seen Model Y's around the Golden State recently ? That would be much more relevant. Model Y's would also benefit from the real world road testing, something that Tesla apparently does not do enough of given the problems of the Model 3.

Elon says that if it looks OK on the screen it will work in reality without an issue.

The Y and the Truck look like they will become the two flagship products. Even if they were not the most popular cars with consumers, they are the two products best suited for Full Self Driving when you look at cost vs. utility.

Can't say I'm super excited about the Y, but it will no doubt be a huge success. The truck gives me a feeling similar to the first time I saw the Model S prototype. The more I see it, the more I want it.

The truck's panels are flat sheets of metal significantly reducing costs but at the expense of strength and looks. A truck for those who want to be seen as
( FILL IN THE BLANK)!

Triangles are the strongest architectural shapes you can make. I think it will be far stronger than anything else in the Tesla lineup, and that is saying a lot.

Except that in this situation, the peak of the triangle would be the weakest part of the roof and this would accordion like no one's business.

We'll see, I don't think it will be more likely to accordion than a traditional truck. I think the roof will be stronger with this design. The crash tests will be fun to watch.

People can hate all they want. It's a free country. But at least Tesla does not put in fake engine noises into their cars. BMW does it and now Porsche is doing it with the Taycan. At least you can turn it off or on. Spare me...

The fart noises are hilarious, and there are now fake noises on the new cars to comply with new regulations. Reverse sounds like something out of the Jetsons. At least it is better than a fake ICE sound.

The tires/wheels that are on the CyberYuk are of the off road variety. You usually see those tires on jacked-up/raised diesel trucks. Folks who are now considering the Cybertruck would have never considered a vehicle with that tire setup before but now they are all on-board all-of-a-sudden. The tires are loud and aren’t really good for the streets. Listen to it drive down the road. The tire noise is immense. But the brainwashed lovers of this vehicle do not care. They want the vehicle exactly the way it is, those fools don’t even know what they are getting into. The Cybertruck proves that a good amount of Americans will like whatever youtubers tell them to like.

"Over at TMZ, they reported that Musk was behind the wheel with a truckload of passengers, and was showing off the truck to actor Edward Norton. And the truck was apparently unwieldy enough that Musk hit a traffic pylon pulling into the Nobu parking lot."

So much for 911 like performance.

This thing is huge, ugly, crazy and all... I agree with most of that sentiment, on the other hand in the right situation I can see me wanting one. Love all the hate for Elon out there by all the people here who are so much smarter than he is. Here is truly a loser according to a lot of people here, after getting a double major in Physics and Economics he founded a company that he later sold for $300M, he then went on to co-found pay pal, started a few more super ambitious companies Tesla and SpaceX. I have to say I have a lot of admiration for the guy, just as I do for others who have done similar things such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Enzo Ferrari, Carol Shelby and many others. I doubt anyone will admit it and will likely protest this but from the people I talk to, it is clear that a lot of the hate is that Tesla is associated with fighting global warming (a scientific fact, yet flat earthers persist) and his different style than most traditional businessmen.
