ATTENTION WALMART SHOPPERS! Did The New 2021 Tahoe And Suburban Take A WRONG Turn On Their EXPEDITION?

ATTENTION WALMART SHOPPERS! Did The New 2021 Tahoe And Suburban Take A WRONG Turn On Their EXPEDITION?
We've been taking a long look at the images from tonight's launch of the all-new Chevrolet Suburban & Tahoe trucks and, frankly, we're scratching our heads a bit. There's good reason for this.

We're just not entirely sure how strong this product is. And, Chevrolet is mum on the pricing details.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban & Tahoe

**Read the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban & Tahoe's press release HERE!

Their direct competitor is the Ford Expedition, which is by our yardstick, a killer truck. To be straightforward, that's a very strong product.

Meanwhile, the all-new Chevrolets seem inspired by the Expedition as well as the Lincoln Navigator. Look at the gear selector as well as the tacked-on screen. While other automakers have executed this in a cleaner fashion, GM's approach looks more clunky and cheap.

All that said, we're left wondering: Did the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban take a WRONG turn on their expedition?

What say you, Spies?

Interior looks fine and upgraded. Front end fussy and running lights and corners look contrived.

I love it! Looks like a home run to me, especially the Z71 version. Finally a diesel!!!

Front end is still pretty bad.

They are simply unattractive.

agreed.

i think that bc that are so many other larger CUV's with better styling, the Tahoo/Suburban & Expedition aren't so trendy anymore. They're still likable & very useful, but they've gotten SOOO big, it's just really hard to design trendy stylized exteriors for whales of the streets.

they of course, have all the interior options & features consumers expect. Getting the IRS is a plus, but will be hardly noticed by customers that honestly don't care. The spare tire is still hanging off the bottom.

Keep those things at walmart because I don't want to see them.

The new packaging and interior is enough to maintain their ownership of the segment. The interior is nicer than the expedition despite some of the mandatory cheap GM parts bin stuff. The front is a little fugly, but they will have the GMC version which will look more conservative. The suspension lineup is a real winner as well...big problem with Expedetion/Navigator is that they get choppy on rough roads with the big wheels. Magnetic ride control does a great job on the current Denial/Escalade, and the air suspension should be an even nicer ride. The other big change is that the smaller models now move into the sweet spot now of a manageable 3 row vehicle with a decent 3rd row sized in line with Expedation/GLS/X7. Overall this will be a big winner for GM.

I wonder if this will be the new Silverado interior for next year given how the current one has been so universally panned?

Im impressed they are brining back the diesel engine! I love the diesel engine in my 2015 BMW X5, too bad no more for the states for this time being... The torque, smoothness and gas mileage are amazing.

Unless towing, you're probably better off with the 6.2L V8. The engine is cheap to fix and maintain and performs a lot better. The added cost of maintenance, repairs and the cost delta between 87 octane and Diesel will probably not save any money.

why does the Tahoe and Suburban SUV's have just a 'cheap' look to them. They deserve to be sold at Walmart stores.

If you have never driven a Tahoe or a Suburban it's like driving a living room watching a big screen. They are so big and wide. I think I went through a whole tank in one weekend when I rented one. But fair point on the diesel vs 87 octane gas engine. You would need to do the math to see if any savings exist.

They are gigantic and you're always aware of the mass of the vehicle.
