Tesla's Cybertruck To Be Classified As A Medium Duty Truck

Tesla has been describing the Cybertruck as a pickup truck to compete with the Ford F-150 and other light-duty trucks, but now a new CARB filing from Tesla says that it will be a “medium-duty truck,” and therefore, it should have a gross vehicle weight rating over 8,501 pounds.

In a filing about Tesla’s thoughts on California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) new Advanced Clean Truck rule to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission, medium- and heavy-duty (MD and HD) vehicles, Tesla made a rare new comment on the Cybertruck:

No way the FuglyTruck out pulls a F350 (especially the dually version) with it's 1000+ fl/lb torque.

Since Cyber Truck is a medium-duty truck (and wide!), it seems as if it will not fit on standard issue flat-bed trucks when the inevitable break-downs or warranty issues occur.

How will Tesla transport the disabled Cyber Trucks to the service centers (that are spread out over 100's of miles in 'fly-over' country where most pickup sales occur).

Is Tesla opening more 'Service Centers' or Superchargers in Texas? The market for pickups is limited in the affluent areas where Tesla is currently most popular (California) and the areas where people currently buy most pickups are not really that well-served by Tesla's (very limited) support infrastructure.

It looks like all the major cities in Texas have service stations and superchargers are 50-100 miles apart across the whole state. If service is like the Model 3, then you might not have to do anything to the truck for the first 4 years of ownership. If you lease, you may never have to take the care in ever.
