VIDEO: Doug DeMuro Goes DEEP On The All-new Aston Martin DBX — Is It A STUD or DUD?

One of the latest all-new, über luxury sport-utility vehicles to hit the market is the Aston Martin DBX. Years ago I would have never thought this would happen, but here we are.

Controversially styled, I actually happen to think it looks quite good. Unlike the first-gen Porsche Cayenne or Bentley Bentayga, I believe the DBX is a slick-looking product. But if you're simply not convinced, let me give it one more shot.

The well-known YouTuber Doug DeMuro recently spent some time with a pre-production DBX in Newport Beach. While he wasn't allowed to drive it or even rev the motor, his detailed walkaround video highlighting it inside and out is quite helpful.

That said, I am curious. After you've seen the clip, weigh in: Is the all-new DBX a STUD or DUD?

I think the goal for this SUV is 7,000 units. Bring the brand up to 14,000 units in sales worldwide. It should not be that hard to hit. There have never been more rich folks on the planet than today.

Yup and this will be the most reliable Aston yet as the engine, transmission, infotainment, all wheel drive system, and switchgear come straight out of a Benz.

Aston quality sucks - I had one. Among other things, the turn signals stopped working when it was two years old. When was the last time that ever happened to anybody who reads this site? The turn signal wire rubbed they said. This DBX will be a disaster.

Yes, agreed.

Every Aston Martin press vehicle I've experienced had 2-3 quality control issues per vehicle.

I will say the all-new Vantage I drove a couple months ago was perfect. No issues whatsoever.

So, hopefully it's gotten its QA act together.

Not sure who they got their switchgear from, but there is so much Mercedes-Benz in modern day Aston's, any British electrical gremlins, poor quality bits, cheap engine parts and baulking transmissions from lesser makes, should really be a thing of the past.

One of the cars in Ed's collection is an Aston Martin Lagonda. We did an LS7 conversion. We also had to fabricate a dashboard replacement. It looks like a Lagonda but is reliable. Lagondas are not that hard to buy cheap and mod. I've driven it to Newport Beach a few times.

Down the street from me there is a very nice home with a white Aston Vanquish and a white Maserati Levante. I suspect at some point in the future the Vevante will be switched for a white DBX. Call it a hunch.

@mre30 - No idea. I have never seen anyone come out of that house. Just the cars moving around parked in different spots day to day. My area is made up of all professional people and is very mixed.
