Porsche Has A LOT Of Great Colors. This Is NOT One Of Them...

Of all the automakers, it seems like Porsche is one of the better ones when it comes to its color palette. That's because the boys and girls from Stuttgart offer their product in a wide array of colors.

Mind you I am talking about the usual colors available at a relatively nominal cost.

Being Porsche, however, you can essentially paint your car whatever you'd like. That's where the Paint to Sample program comes into play. Just the other day I saw Jerry Seinfeld's 911 GT3 RS with the wing delete painted an exclusive $173K color.

A rather famous color that's been used on previous Porsche vehicles is Maritime. And while it's worked on models like the 964, I am not so sure about it on the 991.

See what I mean, below. Agent 001 spotted this Maritime 991 Cabriolet in SoCal with color-matched wheels. It's a bit much, no?

Having said that, we were wondering: WHICH Porsche colors are YOU a fan of? Feel free to get model specific as certain colors don't translate to each and every model.

All agree color is fine, but not on the wheels. Maybe it was used as an accent color on a polished wheel

Nothing can change the look of a car like a new set of wheels. This blue would look great with a set of brushed clear coated HRE wheels.

The way we perceive colors is one of the most variable things about humans - with 1 in 9 males having some form of color blindness (Genetically from our mothers). Most men eventually have trouble with darker colors - but the intensity of the color is another attribute that varies as well.

I am not sure the complaint about the "color" of this car is a reflection of the HUE - or the way it interacts with the car itself - The Very traditional styling does not pull off the color as well as I think a more adventurous design like the new Corvette or maybe a Lambo would.

But since this is one area where we actually get to choose - it really is a PERSONAL decision.

Apparently Jerry ordered changes through the Porsche Special Wish program that totaled $217k. If you really want a certain shade of silver (spare me) and to get rid of the wing, they are happy to charge you for the privilege. I wonder if he paid for the leather wrapped air vents...

Love the color. Black wheels would be better. The coupe rather than the cabrio would be even better.
