WHAT IF? If YOU Could Have An Electrified Version Of ANY Vehicle, WHICH Would YOU Choose And WHY?
Well, this is a bit perplexing.

Mercedes-AMG released a video just before the holidays saying "Thank you," to its entire staff. That's pretty cool. But, something may have been cooler and was hiding in plain sight.

At the very end of the cilp, an all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe is spotted with camouflage on the lower valence. It then takes off silently followed by that electric vehicle whirring noise.

Is Mercedes-AMG telling us an EV variant is on the way? Seems that way. Rumors suggest that this is the Mercedes-AMG GT73 but not much substantive information is available at the time.

That, of course, got me thinking: WHAT IF you were able to electrify ANY vehicle of your choice? WHICH automobile would you choose and WHY?

THIS IS FOR OUR AMG TEAM! Thanks for your incredible performance throughout the whole year, full of exciting moments and your inner drive to always achieve the best. A big THANK YOU also to the Mercedes-AMG family and friends for your support in 2019.

I spent too much of my time trying to give my made up cars a hearty exhaust sound (Noise?) to then say I would prefer they not have them. When I want to drive spiritedly - I want it to sound that way. I would miss that "roar"!

I admit the Rolls is nice and quiet for those luxury occasions where I would not want to drive spiritedly - BUT - since I do not want a limited range -- I cannot see changing it to an EV. It is already quiet inside

I suppose that if I HAD TO change a car - it would be my CHrysler Mini-Van - which would probably handle better with a huge weight of batteries under the vehicle - BUT - that is where they let the stow and go seats go when I need that feature - and I would not want to give that up.

Is there a real reason to change to an EV - seems like every thing I like about driving is covered by ICE cars - I cannot see a real reason for EV's.

I can't think of a single car that I covet, that I'd rather have electrified. Even the awesome but potentially maintenance intensive Jaguar XKE type I with it's 6 cylinder is better than the electrified version. Part of the sports car experience is the aural feedback from the exhaust and the sensation of the motor as it winds up the RPM scale. EVs are boring.

Maybe but its the fastest growing trend in restoring old classic styled vehicles from the 1950's and 1960's. While not an EV fan myself (old school to the end) these conversions are favored by the new tech generation and assures the highly styled cars from the past survive in a post ICE world that's inevitable. Its the future.

Commercial airplanes. Significant challenges remain, but with fly-by-wire controls, electric motors for taxiing, and electric-assisted turbines progress in electrification is being made.
