It now expects to have produced 1.5 million electric autos by 2025, it said.

Yes, but they have to park them (20K units so far) because the software to run the car isn't finished being designed and that means it hasn't gone to prototypes yet either. VW is being exceedingly arrogant and they will fall. Instead of "we have a dizzying array of EVs" they needed to do ONE that was successful. The ID3 is a generic turd, and IDCrapp doesn't look promising at all. The genius move for VW would be to have done a new Beetle that was the market's first affordable EV with a 300 mile range.

VW missed out years ago on a VW Bus prototype that would have made at least a dent in the EV market. If it were engineered from the ground up as an EV they already might have made a hit in the EV market years ago. Instead, they focused on ripping off diesel buyers, lying to regulators, and inflating sales numbers numbers with underhanded accounting.

VW had gold in the retro Beetle and the retro Bus but they were stunningly inept at using the cache of either to find success. Ford's old-is-new 2005 Mustang worked wonders for rejuvenating the nameplate. VW is stupidly inept.

All part of the corporate penance.

Sounds like VW knows what they are doing - instead of holding up production, they are building the ID3's and then updating the software before selling them.

You're utterly asinine.
