Ex-Nissan Chief, Carlos Ghosn, FLEES Japan And Is NOW In Lebanon

Ousted Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn, who was awaiting trial on criminal charges in Japan, on Tuesday confirmed reports that he’s left the country and is in Lebanon.

“I am now in Lebanon and will no longer be held hostage by a rigged Japanese justice system where guilt is presumed, discrimination is rampant, and basic human rights are denied, in flagrant disregard of Japan’s legal obligations under international law and treaties it is bound to uphold,” Ghosn said in a statement.

“I have not fled justice — I have escaped injustice and political persecution. I can now finally communicate freely with the media, and look forward to starting next week,” he added...

Yes, do tell us how you misappropriated company assets. We're all ears now that you're "free".

He is now an international criminal. This just proves that he is guilty.

Stunning embarrassment for the Japanese Ministry of Justice. If saving face is still important in Japan, I as Carlos Goshen would hide out of plain sight, not in a "Gated Mansion" in Lebanon. Japan has the same military special forces as any big government, it's called rendition and I suspect CG, is on the top of their list just now...

Amazing story...maybe they can sneak Paul Manafort out of prison the same way?

Can Manafort get asylum in Mar A Lago?

Stunning embarrassment for Japan!

I wonder how honest the Japanese justice system is. I have heard they have a 99% conviction rate. Ghosn maybe correct in that the system in Japan was stacked against him. Further if his movements were so restricted, he was on video watch, and his passports confiscated how would he had gotten out of Japan undetected? So that tells me perhaps the government was either complicit in letting him go or there are a bunch of corrupt government officials. That in itself would weaken the case against him.

Now, the real question is will he clear his name? Lebanon has no extradition with Japan.

How can he clear his name when he's guilty and they have mountains of evidence to prove it?

It will be interesting to learn just how he did it. Some say he was smuggled out in a box for a musical instrument. Others say a fake French passport was created. Others still that a large organization with funding (national gov't? ) could be involved.

That settles it. No need for a jury trial.
